In the breathtaking valleys of Kashmir, where snow-capped peaks kiss the sky and tradition lingers in the mountain air, a story of heritage, artistry, and warmth unfolds. At Aishiteru, our passion for authenticity led us to partner with Wajid, a master craftsman and a true ambassador of timeless Kashmiri excellence.
A Legacy Woven Through Generations
Wajid is not just a supplier, he is the living continuation of a family legacy deeply rooted in the art of weaving. He began his journey in 2008, shortly after graduating from university, stepping into a trade long upheld by his ancestors. His dedication to preserving the art of handweaving is reflected in every thread.
Today, Wajid collaborates with nearly 40 artisan families across Kashmir, nurturing a network that sustains both craft and community. These artisans, many of whom have worked with his family for decades, create unique pieces that blend heritage and modern elegance with unmatched precision.
Ethical, Human-Centered Production
Unlike mass manufacturing, Wajid’s model is built on ethical sourcing and fair collaboration. He purchases the entire production from these artisan families, ensuring their livelihood while protecting centuries-old craftsmanship. In addition, he operates his own workshop with 10 full-time employees and 12 skilled weavers, who help fulfill growing demand without compromising on quality or values.
Each scarf offered by Aishiteru is a testament to human artistry, woven with care, tradition, and a deep respect for both nature and the people behind the process.
Cashmere from the Roof of the World
Wajid’s cashmere shawls and scarves are made from the ultra-soft undercoat of Changthangi goats, which thrive at over 4,000 meters above sea level in the Himalayan mountains. This rare fiber is revered for its extraordinary warmth, featherlight feel, and refined texture, making it one of the most luxurious natural materials in the world.
The result is a piece of wearable art—soft, breathable, and effortlessly elegant.
Silk: A Natural Touch of Fluid Luxury
Alongside cashmere, Wajid also works with fine silks, harvested from silkworm cocoons raised under traditional methods. Known for its natural sheen, softness, and fluidity, silk has long been celebrated for its elegance and versatility. Whether woven pure or blended with other noble fibers, silk scarves from Wajid’s atelier offer a light, graceful drape perfect for warmer seasons or sophisticated styling. Each piece embodies a refined balance between delicacy and durability.
A Timeless Tradition of Luxury
Kashmiri shawls have graced royal courts, spiritual temples, and fashion capitals for centuries. Praised by ancient Chinese monks, Mughal emperors, and European aristocracy, the Kashmir shawl is a cultural symbol of refinement and prestige.
At Aishiteru, we are proud to carry forward this heritage through our collaboration with Wajid. Every scarf in our collection represents a living tradition, a story told through the weaver’s hand, and a luxury that transcends time.
